Job Overview

We are hiring Autonomous Vehicle Attendants to support rider operations and customer experience for an autonomous vehicle service. This role serves as the in-person point of contact for riders at designated pickup and drop-off locations, helping ensure safe, organized, and efficient rider flow.

This position is ideal for candidates with customer service, hospitality, retail, transportation, or other public-facing experience who are comfortable working outdoors, communicating with large groups of people, and handling fast-paced operational environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Greet riders and provide a professional, welcoming customer experience
• Authenticate riders using badge scanning systems
• Hail autonomous vehicles between designated pickup and drop-off areas
• Communicate with operations teams through Slack and internal communication channels
• Assist with rider flow and light crowd control at pickup locations
• Provide updates regarding service delays, disruptions, or operational changes
• Support rider assistance during service interruptions or emergency situations
• Follow operational and safety procedures consistently
• Maintain a safety-focused and customer-oriented environment
• Support flexible scheduling and work across multiple operational locations as needed

 

Requirements

• 2+ years of customer service, retail, hospitality, transportation, or other customer-facing experience
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Customer-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
• Ability to follow operational procedures and protocols accurately
• Comfortable working outdoors and standing for extended periods
• Ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced or high-stress situations
• Reliable, proactive, and resourceful work style
• Ability to lift and carry moderate loads as needed
• Flexibility to work changing schedules based on operational needs

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in high-volume public-facing environments
• Experience with crowd management or event operations
• Knowledge of de-escalation techniques or conflict resolution
• Experience supporting transportation, rideshare, or mobility operations
