Autonomous Vehicle Technician
Job Overview
We are hiring an experienced Vehicle Technician to support fleet maintenance, diagnostics, and readiness for an autonomous vehicle operation. This role focuses on performing high-quality repairs, inspections, and ensuring vehicles are safe and ready for on-road testing and service.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles
• Conduct multi-point inspections and document findings in service systems
• Configure, maintain, and sign off vehicles for safe on-road operation
• Support repair coordination and escalate complex issues when needed
• Maintain accurate service records and field quality reports
• Support shop operations including tools, equipment, and parts inventory
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures
• Travel locally as needed to support fleet readiness
Requirements
• 5+ years of automotive technician experience
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, tools, and repair methods
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Experience documenting work and using service platforms
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
• Forklift certification (Cal/OSHA compliant) required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work extended periods on feet
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in automotive labs or testing environments
• Knowledge of CAN systems, wiring diagrams, or soldering
• Experience towing or transporting vehicles
• Technical certification or Associate degree in automotive repair
Schedule
Available shifts:
• 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
Multiple schedule options available:
• Sunday – Thursday
• Tuesday – Saturday
• Wednesday – Sunday
• Thursday – Monday
• Friday – Tuesday
