Robot Service Technician Part Time
Job Overview
We are hiring Robot Service Technicians to support the deployment, maintenance, and daily operations of self-driving delivery robots in Tucson. This is a hands-on role focused on keeping a local robot fleet operational through diagnostics, repairs, and field support.
This position is suited for candidates who are mechanically inclined, comfortable using tools, and able to follow structured procedures in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations
• Prepare and deploy robots, including battery installation and system checks
• Monitor robot activity and maintain operational readiness throughout the day
• Maintain organized workspace and manage tools and inventory
Maintenance & Repairs
• Assemble and repair components such as harnesses, cables, and connectors
• Install and replace sensors including LiDAR, cameras, and ultrasonic systems
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
• Perform service updates and component replacements across multiple units
Field Support
• Respond to field incidents and perform on-site troubleshooting or recovery
• Support testing of new hardware and system updates
Requirements
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand tools and diagnostic equipment
• Ability to follow written procedures and technical instructions
• Experience in automotive, robotics, electronics, or similar hands-on roles preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR (past 12 months)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physical environment
• Comfortable operating a scooter for field response
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in a technical, warehouse, or service environment
• Familiarity with multimeters and basic diagnostic software
• Ability to read mechanical drawings or schematics
