Robot Service Technician
Job Overview
In this role, you will support the production, maintenance, and repair of self-driving delivery robots through a mix of hands-on assembly, troubleshooting, and field support. Your work will directly impact the reliability, performance, and scalability of an autonomous robotics fleet operating in real-world environments.
This position is ideal for hands-on, versatile technicians with experience in automotive, robotics, or manufacturing environments who enjoy working across mechanical, electrical, and field-based tasks in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Assemble harnesses, cables, and connectors for self-driving delivery robots
• Install, replace, and calibrate sensors including LiDAR, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on the robot fleet
• Diagnose breakdowns, investigate incidents, and execute service campaigns
• Test and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components, including suspensions and batteries
• Travel between local sites to provide onsite field support as needed
• Support rapid prototyping, testing, and inventory management activities
• Assist with research and development experiments supporting new product initiatives
Requirements
• Hands-on experience in automotive, robotics, manufacturing, or similar technical environments
• Experience using mechanical and electrical tools, including measuring equipment
• Ability to assemble and disassemble products and install custom electronic modules
• Working knowledge of AC/DC systems and electrical components
• Ability to read and interpret 2D mechanical drawings
• Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR for the past 12 months
• Ability to lift and move items exceeding 50 lbs
• Comfortable working in both shop and field environments
• Strong attention to detail with a structured, logical problem-solving approach
• Team-oriented with strong communication and collaboration skills
• Creative, adaptable mindset for handling diverse technical challenges
• Soldering skills are a plus
Preferred Qualifications
• Preferred experience in automotive plants, dealership service departments, or similar environments
• Advanced computer literacy strongly preferred
• Retrofitting experience is a strong plus
