Job Overview

We are hiring a Technician Lead to support robotics service operations across the Bay Area. This is a hands-on "player-coach" role where you will spend the majority of your time performing advanced diagnostics and repairs while also helping the technician team stay aligned on daily fleet uptime, repair quality, safety, and productivity goals.

This role is ideal for an experienced technician with strong fleet or vehicle service experience who is comfortable troubleshooting complex electrical and hardware issues, leading by example, improving shop processes, and serving as the first point of escalation for the team.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced robotic diagnostics and complex repairs
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, control units, and associated hardware
• Help the team meet daily fleet uptime and repair goals
• Serve as the first point of escalation for technical issues
• Create and improve workflows that increase repair accuracy and shop efficiency
• Maintain high standards for technical documentation and shift handoffs
• Lead medium-to-high complexity projects tied to fleet uptime and reliability
• Troubleshoot systemic hardware issues and escalate critical bottlenecks to engineering
• Assign work based on team capabilities and help remove roadblocks
• Translate fleet and reliability goals into daily technician priorities
• Track fleet health trends, wins, and recurring technical issues
• Use data and root-cause analysis to develop scalable solutions instead of one-off fixes
• Support technician development through hands-on guidance and training

 

Requirements

• 3–5 years of service or technician experience
• Prior vehicle or fleet service experience
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with complex electrical systems and hardware repair
• Strong communication and technical documentation skills
• Experience using work order management systems
• Ability to manage work orders accurately and on time
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently while supporting a broader technician team
• Valid U.S. driver’s license
• Ability to successfully complete a motor vehicle record check

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience leading, mentoring, or training technicians
• Robotics, EV, autonomous vehicle, or advanced fleet service experience
• Experience managing fleet uptime or reliability initiatives
• Experience creating or improving service center processes and workflows
• Experience troubleshooting systemic hardware issues in partnership with engineering teams

 

Work Environment

• 100% onsite position
• Work may be based across Fremont, San Jose, and Sunnyvale, CA
• Hands-on technician role with approximately 90–95% of the day focused on technical execution
