Reliability Test Technician
Job Overview
We are hiring a Reliability Test Technician to support the development, testing, and validation of autonomous robotic platforms. This role focuses on executing reliability tests, documenting findings, supporting root cause investigations, and helping improve the performance and durability of robotic systems.
This position is ideal for hands-on technicians with experience in robotics, automotive, mechanical, electrical, or testing environments who enjoy troubleshooting complex systems and validating hardware through structured testing.
Key Responsibilities
• Execute reliability, durability, and validation tests on autonomous robotic systems and components
• Collaborate with engineering teams to document test findings and support root cause analysis
• Work with a variety of hardware including electronics, sensors, actuators, wiring, and mechanical assemblies
• Create and maintain detailed test procedures, documentation, and reports
• Support continuous improvement of test specifications, procedures, and validation processes
• Operate and maintain laboratory testing equipment and test environments
• Support testing activities at external laboratories and field test locations as needed
• Maintain organized, safe, and efficient laboratory and workshop environments
• Collect, organize, and communicate test data to engineering teams
Requirements
• 5+ years of hands-on technical experience in robotics, automotive, electrical, mechanical, computer systems, or related industries
• Strong ability to read and interpret schematics, datasheets, and technical documentation
• Experience operating environmental chambers, vibration tables, mechanical load frames, or similar testing equipment
• Experience with soldering, crimping, wiring, and cable management
• Familiarity with laboratory tools, DAQ systems, sensors, measurement instruments, and shop equipment
• Experience using 3D printers and common power tools
• Working knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks, Onshape, or similar platforms
• Experience working with Linux-based systems
• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
• Ability to work onsite and support field testing activities when required
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in a hands-on lab or warehouse environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience testing autonomous vehicles, robotic systems, or advanced hardware products
• Experience supporting hardware validation, reliability, or environmental testing programs
• Experience working in R&D, product development, or engineering test environments
• Familiarity with root cause analysis and failure investigation methodologies
