Autonomous Vehicle Technician
Job Overview
We are hiring a Autonomous Vehicle Technician to support maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and fleet readiness operations for an autonomous vehicle fleet in Las Vegas, NV. This senior-level role focuses on advanced troubleshooting, complex repairs, high-voltage systems, vehicle communications, and technical leadership within the workshop environment.
This position is ideal for experienced technicians with advanced diagnostic capabilities who can independently resolve complex issues, mentor junior technicians, and partner with engineering teams to improve fleet reliability and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repair activities with minimal supervision
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, communication, and high-voltage vehicle systems
• Diagnose and repair BUS communication and network-related issues
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools, including CANalyzer, to capture, analyze, and interpret vehicle data
• Lead complex repairs and support technical escalations across the technician team
• Mentor and train Level 1 and Level 2 technicians
• Identify opportunities to improve repair processes, tooling, and serviceability
• Partner with engineering and operations teams on root cause investigations and fleet reliability improvements
• Support vehicle readiness, repair coordination, and lab operations
• Maintain detailed documentation of diagnostics, repairs, and corrective actions
• Execute repairs independently while maintaining high quality and safety standards
Requirements
• 4+ years of automotive technician experience
• Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical and electrical vehicle systems
• Strong understanding of high-voltage systems and vehicle communication networks
• Experience diagnosing complex electrical faults and communication issues
• Ability to independently perform advanced repairs with minimal supervision
• Experience mentoring or training technicians
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass background check, MVR check, and drug screening
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work extended periods standing or walking
Preferred Qualifications
• Automotive degree or trade school certification
• ASE certifications
• Experience using CANalyzer or similar vehicle diagnostic and data logging tools
• Experience working with autonomous vehicles, electric vehicles, or advanced vehicle platforms
• Experience supporting engineering test fleets or R&D vehicle programs
• Experience performing root cause analysis and working directly with engineering teams
• Strong understanding of CAN networks, vehicle communications, and embedded vehicle systems
Schedule
• 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 8:00 AM
• Shift days to be determined
