Engineering Technician
Job Overview
This is an excellent opportunity for hands-on technicians who enjoy building, configuring, and supporting complex hardware systems in lab and production environments. In this role, you will contribute directly to the reliability, performance, and manufacturability of sensor and compute hardware used in advanced mobility and autonomous systems.
We welcome candidates from a variety of technical backgrounds, including manufacturing test, hardware integration, electronics, automotive systems, lab operations, and industrial equipment assembly, who are motivated by detailed technical work and close collaboration with engineering teams.
What You’ll Do
• Develop, build, validate, troubleshoot, and support automated test stations in lab and high-volume production environments
• Assemble and configure cabinet- and rack-based industrial test stations with electrical and mechanical subsystems
• Interpret and follow electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions
• Assemble, repair, and modify wiring harnesses and related components
• Operate and configure lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, and digital multimeters
• Support computer system bring-up and provisioning, including Linux-based systems
• Create, review, and refine test documentation, work instructions, and process workflows
• Partner closely with engineers to ensure hardware designs meet manufacturability and testability requirements
• Troubleshoot test station issues and support ongoing development and production testing
• Travel between work sites as needed to support testing and development activities
Required Qualifications
• Associate degree or higher in electrical, electronics, or mechanical technology, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of industry experience building or supporting industrial-grade test systems
• Proven ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings
• Hands-on experience assembling and repairing wiring harnesses
• Experience operating standard electrical lab equipment (multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes)
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based engineering environment
• Ability to work onsite in Foster City, CA
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience building automated test stations or production test infrastructure
• Familiarity with Linux systems and basic system provisioning
• Automotive, ECU, or hardware validation testing experience
• Experience working with networking equipment, racks, or cabinet-based systems
• Background in manufacturing, test engineering, or hardware diagnostics environments
• Strong documentation discipline and process-oriented mindset
