Engineering Technician
Job Overview
In this role, you will support the design, buildout, testing, and maintenance of engineering test rigs and vehicle platforms. You will play a hands-on role in assembling prototypes, troubleshooting complex systems, and supporting rapid development of next-generation vehicle technology.
This position is ideal for an Engineering Technician with experience in the automotive field who enjoys working across mechanical, electrical, and computer systems in a fast-paced lab and vehicle environment. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams while taking ownership of technical execution, inventory organization, and component procurement.
Key Responsibilities
• Troubleshoot vehicle systems, computer components, and sensors, performing root cause analysis and calibration
• Assemble prototypes, electrical wiring, and cable harnesses according to engineering specifications
• Support testing and validation of vehicle platforms and engineering test rigs
• Manage inventory systems for automotive components, tools, and lab supplies
• Oversee procurement of key parts and maintain supplier relationships
• Collaborate cross-functionally to minimize vehicle downtime while prioritizing safety and performance
• Document assembly procedures, wiring layouts, and technical processes for future reference
Requirements
• 2+ years of technical experience in the automotive field or related industries such as mechanical, electrical, computer, or robotics
• Hands-on experience working with vehicle systems, components, or automotive platforms
• Proven ability to assemble prototypes, electrical wiring, and cable assemblies
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, datasheets, and technical documentation
• Experience working in a shop, lab, or vehicle-based environment
• Hands-on soldering and electrical assembly experience
• Familiarity with shop equipment, 3D printers, and automotive diagnostic tools
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with Python or other programming languages
• Experience working with ROS and Linux operating systems
• CNC, machining, metalworking, or welding experience
• Background in automotive repair, maintenance, or vehicle diagnostics
• Hands-on experience with AV components such as LiDAR, radar, and cameras
• Ability to design, draw, and prototype custom cable harnesses
• Experience using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)

Additional Details
• Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Occasional weekend work or overtime may be required based on build needs
• Two-stage onsite interview process
