Job Overview
This role supports daily test operations by coordinating vehicle and operator activity across active testing sites. The Shift Coordinator is responsible for real-time deployment readiness, fleet monitoring, and in-shift execution to ensure test plans are carried out safely and accurately.

 

This position is suited for professionals with experience in operations, logistics, or fleet coordination who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, technical, in-person environment. The role requires frequent communication with cross-functional technical teams and the ability to manage changing priorities throughout a shift.

 

Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate daily vehicle deployments and operator assignments based on test plans
• Perform pre-deployment readiness checks, including software branch validation, time synchronization, and vehicle status
• Monitor fleet health in real time using internal tools and dashboards
• Enforce compliance with safety and testing protocols for all operators
• Maintain shift logs, performance metrics, and operational hand-offs
• Coordinate in-shift support, including vehicle swaps and priority changes
• Track and resolve operational blockers related to maintenance, charging, or software
• Reassign vehicles and operators based on availability, issues, or testing priorities
• Serve as the primary point of contact for in-shift coordination and escalations
• Travel between San Francisco and Sunnyvale sites as needed for coverage

 

Requirements
• 2+ years of experience in operations, logistics, or vehicle fleet coordination
• Experience working in a fast-paced technical or operational environment
• Experience using dashboards, logs, and internal tools to monitor fleet or operational activity
• Familiarity with basic troubleshooting and triage workflows
• Strong communication and organizational skills in time-sensitive situations
• Ability to maintain accurate operational records and hand-offs
• Demonstrated attention to safety and operational detail

 

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with fleet management systems such as Fleetio
• Experience using Slack, Jira, and Confluence
• Experience with Google Workspace
• Prior experience in autonomous vehicle, automotive, or field operations environments
• Dispatch, coordination, or operator scheduling experience
• Understanding of software deployments, telemetry, and vehicle health monitoring
• Experience supporting cross-functional technical teams

Additional Details
• Location: Onsite in San Francisco, CA, with travel between San Francisco and Sunnyvale
• Work authorization requirements: Must be authorized to work in the United States
