Autonomous Vehicle Technician
Job Overview
We are hiring a Autonomous Vehicle Technician to support maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and fleet readiness operations for an autonomous vehicle fleet in Miami, FL. This role focuses on preventative maintenance, advanced diagnostics, repair coordination, and supporting daily workshop operations to ensure vehicles remain operational and ready for testing and deployment.
This position is ideal for experienced automotive technicians with strong diagnostic capabilities and experience working with advanced vehicle systems, electrical systems, and modern vehicle technologies.
Key Responsibilities
• Configure, maintain, diagnose, and sign off vehicles for safe on-road operation
• Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and fleet reworks
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and vehicle system issues
• Coordinate repairs from diagnosis through resolution
• Escalate complex issues to engineering teams when needed
• Develop and execute diagnostic test plans to support troubleshooting and validation
• Maintain detailed service records and quality field reports
• Support fleet readiness for testing and demonstration activities
• Maintain shop organization, tooling, and facility readiness
• Assist with parts inventory, storage, and organization
• Travel locally as needed to support fleet operations and maintenance activities
• Partner with shop leadership to ensure vehicles are prepared for deployment
Requirements
• 2–4 years of automotive technician experience
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, repair methods, tools, and diagnostic procedures
• Experience diagnosing mechanical and electrical vehicle issues
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass background check, MVR check, and drug screening
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work extended periods standing or walking
• Forklift and/or gantry operation experience required
• Reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented work style
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with high-voltage systems, hybrid drivetrains, HVAC, cooling systems, chassis, and suspension diagnostics
• Experience with CAN/LIN networks, wiring diagrams, and soldering
• Experience troubleshooting Linux-based systems
• Experience working with embedded modules, sensor systems, or autonomous vehicle technology
• Experience in automotive engineering labs, testing facilities, or research environments
• ASE certifications and/or manufacturer certifications
• Technical trade school certificate or Associate degree in Automotive Technology
• Experience towing trailers or transporting fleet vehicles
• Ability to travel for training as needed
Schedule
Available Shifts:
• Tuesday – Saturday: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
• Tuesday – Saturday: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
• Friday – Tuesday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
