Job Overview

A leading autonomous mobility company seeks a Cloud Platform Engineer to develop and maintain Linux + Kubernetes platforms for autonomous driving technology. The Cloud Platform team deploys and maintains Kubernetes clusters and related infrastructure in cloud and on-premises (bare metal) environments. The company processes massive datasets from self-driving vehicles to support machine learning and algorithm testing using Kubernetes as the core platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and develop large Kubernetes clusters with over 100 nodes each.

• Research approaches to enhance stability of Linux and Kubernetes for big data processing workloads.

• Participate in creating new on-premises and cloud installations.

• Develop deployment tools for internal users.

Requirements

• Demonstrate experience administering production Kubernetes clusters.

• Possess understanding of Kubernetes internal workings.

• Show experience using Kubernetes at a user level, including deploying applications and diagnosing issues.

• Have familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools and the GitOps approach.

• Exhibit experience with cloud technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrate proficiency in coding with Python or Go at a middle developer level.

• Possess in-depth knowledge of the Linux Kernel and network stack.

• Hold familiarity with software-defined storage such as Ceph.

• Have experience with GPU (Nvidia) virtualization technologies.

• Show experience deploying Kubernetes clusters from scratch.

• Possess experience writing Kubernetes operators.
