Job Overview

A fast-growing autonomous vehicle company is hiring Senior Frontend Engineer. The team builds the Remote Control system that powers teleoperation and fleet management for autonomous cars and delivery robots. Engineers develop tools that enable operators to assist vehicles in complex urban environments via real-time video, map-based navigation, and custom interfaces optimized for low-latency decision-making. The Senior Frontend Engineer develops the operator-facing frontend of the Remote Control stack, shaping how autonomy operates at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain low-latency, real-time interfaces for controlling autonomous cars and robots.

• Architect robust React applications that integrate live video feeds, real-time maps, and interactive controls for navigation and remote assistance.

• Optimize interfaces for operator efficiency with keyboard workflows, high-res layouts, and fast feedback loops.

• Collaborate with backend, robotics, and UX teams to shape APIs and flows for reliability under edge conditions.

• Ship fast, iterate often, and deliver responsive, intuitive tools that support autonomous vehicle operations.

Requirements

• Demonstrate strong React and TypeScript skills with a proven track record building fast, maintainable apps.

• Apply a real-time mindset with experience working with websockets, live data, or streaming video.

• Exhibit UI intuition by focusing on interface design and performance, including debugging slow or janky UIs.

• Employ systems thinking to understand how frontend fits into the bigger picture and write code that holds up under load.

Preferred Qualifications

• Possess experience with WebRTC, low-latency video, or socket-based architectures.

• Have familiarity with telemetry, maps, or robotics/vehicle systems.

• Hold basic Python or Go skills for debugging backend issues.
