Job Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, documenting, and executing component- and system-level hardware testing for autonomous vehicle hardware platforms. You will support both early prototype development testing and qualification testing for modules intended for vehicle deployment.

This position is ideal for a hands-on hardware engineer who enjoys building test infrastructure, working with lab equipment, and collaborating closely with design, systems, and supplier teams to validate hardware performance in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Execute component- and system-level hardware testing using oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and environmental test equipment
• Develop test setups, including block diagrams, bills of materials (BoMs), and detailed test plans
• Design and build custom test assets such as load simulators, test harnesses, and Python-based tools
• Support test infrastructure projects by coordinating with procurement teams and external suppliers
• Draft and present test plans, design reviews, test readiness reviews, and data reviews
• Review and consult on documentation releases related to standards, design requirements, and risk assessments
• Collaborate with hardware design, systems, and supplier teams to characterize functional performance

 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
• 4+ years of relevant professional engineering experience
• 2+ years of experience in electronics development
• Experience testing electronic, automotive, aerospace, or vehicle components
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment, including environmental chambers, oscilloscopes, electronic loads, VNAs, TDRs, and spectrum analyzers
• Experience using PCBA design tools (Altium preferred)
• Experience with 3D modeling tools (3DExperience or CATIA preferred)
• Proficiency with Ubuntu and Python

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience in team or club engineering competitions (SAE, FIRST, DARPA, etc.)
• Systems and networking foundational knowledge, including memory hierarchy, storage subsystems, and LANs
• Experience with Ethernet switching chipsets (Broadcom, Marvell), PCIe, and CAN
• Familiarity with common bus protocols such as SPI, I2C, and MDIO
• Experience with compliance and simulation tools (Ansys preferred)
• Experience with data acquisition systems (UEI or Keysight preferred)
• Familiarity with requirements and test case management tools (Polarion preferred)
• Experience using Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence
