Job Overview

We are hiring Autonomous Vehicle Technicians to support the build, maintenance, and field operation of robotic platforms and modified vehicles in Austin, TX. This role combines mechanical, electrical, and field service work, supporting both vehicle hardware and autonomous system integration.

This position is best suited for hands-on technicians with experience in automotive service, robotics, or hardware integration environments who are comfortable working with tools, wiring, diagnostics, and technical documentation in a fast-paced setting.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Install and integrate sensors, compute modules, wiring harnesses, and custom hardware into vehicles and robotic platforms
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on vehicle and robotics systems
• Perform preventative maintenance, retrofits, and hardware updates
• Support field deployments with on-site troubleshooting, repairs, and hardware swaps
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support testing and prototyping
• Maintain tools, inventory, and accurate documentation of repairs, procedures, and system changes

 

Requirements

• Experience in automotive service, automotive retrofit, robotics, or a related technical field
• Experience using mechanical and electrical tools, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment
• Ability to read and follow mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical instructions
• Familiarity with AC/DC systems, connectors, wiring, and electronic modules
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally as needed
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in shop and field environments
• Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting mindset
• Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electric vehicles or autonomous systems
• Experience installing sensors or working with camera, LiDAR, radar, or similar hardware
• Soldering, crimping, or basic prototyping experience
